Our Story

Ellie Rose Travel is a family run business in the East Riding of Yorkshire based on the outskirts of East Hull (Saltend). Operating since 2002, initially by founders the Late James and Sheila Houghton.

Our Director Shane Houghton has been in the industry since 1981 working with various local operators, before taking the reins of Ellie Rose Travel, following the passing of his parents.

In 2018 Shane was joined by his daughter, Ellie Rose herself.

About Us

With over 40 years of experience in the industry providing Home to School Contracts for the local Authorities and directly with Schools and Colleges, we operate a fleet of over 40 vehicles, the majority having CCTV.

We employ over 40 friendly staff including bus and coach drivers, an excellent maintenance team and Admin assistants. All staff are fully DBS checked, local authority approved and CPC trained.

At Ellie Rose, we pride ourselves with a reliable service, clean and well-maintained vehicles.

Our vehicles undergo a thorough 4 weekly inspection regime, with above national average first time MOT pass rates. We are on the accredited OCRS scheme and have consistently been in the green for several years. Consequently, we constantly strive to improve the quality and age of our fleet of vehicles to offer the most efficient, reliable and economical service.

Inline with all current legislation, our maintenance staff are all IRTEC trained and collectively have over 40 years experience.
